This is Boardale, with Beda Fell on the left and
Place Fell on the right. Martindale is the valley on the left of
Beda Fell.
This is St Peter's Church, Martindale, at the foot of
Hallin Fell.
Looking back down Martindale from the path up the
flank of Beda Fell. The building on the right is the old church,
and you can see the bridge ove rthe beck.
Nearing the top of Beda Fell you can see Ullswater
and Boardale. Hallin Fell is to the right.
Angle Tarn, as seen from Angletarn Pikes. The
ridge in the distance is High Street, used by the Romans as a road
between Penrith and their forts to the south.
To the west you can see Brothers Water, between
Patterdale, to the right, and the Kirkstone Pass, up to the left at the
foot of Red Screes, the high rounded fell.
